It has been so for a while now, only games that fully put the PC´s to use is Crysis, Metro 2033 and later Stalker series of course. Other games as you say is mostly console ports. I think not until they release a new console we have to live with this. On the other hand isn´t it nice to be able to run current game at full settings and 1080p?

Gaming notebooks have gotten much more affordable with the 5870 don't you think with the entry level G73 at only $1350? I think the G73 is really making gaming notebooks a bit more mainstream. Gone are the days of ridiculous alienware / boutique brand prices if Asus keeps this up.

Well I agree that the G73 isn´t that expensive, though here in Sweden it´s too expensive in my opinon, costs almost as much as a M17x.

I agree. The problem is that over time, technology has generally offered increased performance at lower prices as new technology gets introduced. But the 5870 wasn't much of a leap over the GTX 280M/285M, I remember being hugely disappointed with it when I reviewed it.

And the only places you're getting that kind of power for that cheap are mercifully from vendors like Asus and MSI who are hungry for marketshare. The prices have gone down, but the other half of this equation is missing.
