    4850 vs GTX 260m

    What's the difference between these two cards performance wise? I think they're about the same because the 260 is one down from the 280 and the 4650 is one step down from the 4870. Please clarify this for me peeps, thanks. +rep to whoever helps

    The HD4850 and the GTX260M should be pretty similar in performance with one side beating the other depending on the game/benchmark. The HD4850 was technically somewhere between a 9800M GT and a 9800M GTX in terms of brute power and since the GTX260M is simply an overclocked 9800M GTX on a smaller die, the HD4850 should be comparable in power ot that too.

    Although HD4850 and GTX260M are similar, the GTX280M beats the GDDR3-equipped HD4870 in most cases. If a GDDR5 version of the HD4870 is finally released, it should beat the GTX280M in at least some tests.
