Does anyone know how this card runs Age of Conan? Can it run it on very high settings?

what are age of conan's requirements? and 8600m gt only has 256 effective memory. the other 256 is afaik, only useful if you use external/dual monitor setups.

my bad, I didn't know about the memory stuff.

The game recommends a geforce 7900 GTX.

whoa. if that's recommended and not minimum then you're probably looking at low/medium settings. the 7900 is a good card, similar to the power of the 8800. the 8600 is mid range. i'm sure it'll play nicely if you're not picky about the mostest fastest prettiest graphics.

check out the other thread... 8600GT works, just don't expect insane resolutions or all the eye-candy turned up.

You may need to back down to 1280x800/low, but may get as high as 1440x900/medium with some tweaks/OC.

If this is the desktop version, expect a bit more.

The 7900GTX and 8800 are not even on the same playing field here.

Indeed the 8600GT and 7900GTX are much closer in performance in this game at lower resolutions where EITHER of them will be playing. The 8600GT's newer shaders serve it well for Conan.

From what I gatherered in the forums, the 8700M GT maintains a 40+ at Medium 1440x900 so 30+ for a 8600. The retail client does have perf problem now though it seems so...

wasn't even trying to imply same playing field. they're just similar in performance for their generation and the 7900 gtx has 512mb effective memory. the 8600 gt only has 256 effective. and i'm sure the 7900 would do better in higher resolutions.
