sup guys i was wondering what you thought between the gt 525m and 540m....worth getting on the dell xps 15 for a 100 dollar upgrade? i ended up getting the 525m just cause ive heard people saying it wasnt worth it...did i make the right call?
i know both are not high-class gpus by any means, but is the 540m worth getting over the 525m?

it really depends on what you want to do with the laptop.

540m is basically an overclocked 525m and if it was me i wouldnt upgrade to the 540m either

For $100, not it's not worth it.

But generally, you won't be paying retail for a Dell system. For like $50, it's a "you might as well" upgrade kind of thing.

Well since you're asking "anyone else?" I figured although I don't have information about the 525m, I do have a 540m. I like the graphics card but it doesn't run games AS.. good as I hoped. (although pretty well). That's not a problem though. The problem is you're g oing for something slightly worse. I would suggest finding a laptop that doesn't charge you $100 for a small upgrade though. The difference in cards would be slight. I'm guessing around 5 FPS give or take a few. Not worth $100 imo.

Can you go Dell Outlet? They have great deals, and there are even Outlet coupons. You can get 540M and other goodies in XPS 15 for cheap if you buy it in time. :p
