At what setting and at what fps do you guys think a 560m graphic card can handle for Battlefield 3?
Love to get your guys input and opinion since no one know the benchmark for BF3 until it is release.![]()

I think you've answered yourself with your 2nd line....
so for being sarcastic: with some settings at high and a few at medium... -
I heard some Dice devs bought some MacBook Pro machines when they where in the US.
(Swedish machines be expensive.)
They could play BF3 just fine. -
Well all those demo videos on youtube used a desktop GTX580 and according to them, the game wasn't set on all high.

Most likely it will be able to play it on medium at 1080p.
The 580m is similar to the desktop GTX560ti.
The demo was played on a desktop GTX580 and was not maxed out. -

Nobody knows anything about how it will perform on any system because nobody has it. Until the minimum and recommend system requirements are released, all discussion relating to performance is 100% speculation.

Sorry not trying to be mean, I'm in a happy mood today
Yeah I know but it nice to talk about, I mean waiting for BF3 is a dreadfully long wait. I been waiting for years now, and the closer it get to release date, the painful it will be since it so close and yet so far kind of like reading a boring biology textbook -
Biology is awesome! I loved reading my bio text: Freeman's Biological Science. Very good textbook.
-
It so hot over here I don't make sense -
Please be positive Nate, I need to know for sure thanks -
It's GTX 560 Ti core, but clocked lower, so probably closer to a desktop GTX 560. The GTX 485 is essentially a lower clocked GTX 460 desktop.

Beta in september I will let you know how it is for me.

560 should run it on high just fine.
-
dx10, high, 1920x1080. 40-ish FPS.
Considering bfbc2 ran at 60+ FPS, it should be fine. Just keep away from dx11, or you'll end up with metro 2033 levels of FPS. To be honest, you'll also have some headroom with the settings, as it could just be a minor drop in FPS for high settings. Either way, you probably have nothing to worry about. -
that is disappointing, I guess there is still no laptop GPU that can be compare to my desktop HD 5850 yet.
I waited a year later from buying a laptop hoping that within that one year time frame, that my soon to be gaming notebook could be better than my gaming rig that I build. -
According to notebookcheck, the GTX 485m is equivalent (to a degree) to the desktop 5850 [I wouldn't be surprised if I was wrong though].

Data is on the right pane, not sure how to pullup just that data.

Too bad then.
Either way, there's the Alienware m18x with dual 6970m. That should work -
Here is proof: side by side comparison of all games tested EVER and it actually 32 fps for the 5850.

Unfortunately the link only show all graphic card instead of the two I check dam. -

There is nothing wrong with Alienware laptop's. I have one and can honestly say it is the best laptop I have ever owned. Why does crossfire not count btw? Also, You should take scores from Notebookcheck.net with a grain of salt especially the game FPS section which also says that a 4670 is better than a 4870, but that is the furthest thing from the truth. Have you ever owned an Alienware? Since Dell has taken over Alienware their systems have gotten better. A 485m is far better than a 5850M btw.
-
There is nothing wrong with Alienware but it price, and not to mention IMO their notebook design is ugly. Your pretty much paying the premium for cool lights and the Alienware logo along with all the cool extra that Alienware has to offer.
I was considering an Alienware but after doing countless research, Sager is the best bang for your buck. Also Alienware are behind in technology. Also I don't want people to know that I have a gaming notebook and the Sager look the most professional like. -
Could get a SAGER w/ dual GTX 485m

Do you have any evidence in this? If so i feel like a kid in a candy store. -
edit: nevermind, you're looking at desktop 5850... In any case it's close competition.

One game, perhaps. Across the board the 485m beats or is comparable to the 5850 in a majority of benchmarks. I did a benchmark of Crysis, but link is broken for some reason. I'll find results, but iirc it was in the 30's.
In any case why are we talking desktop 5850 and crysis when topic is 560m and Battlefield 3?
Bad Company 2 = 52 vs 60 fps which is more realistic to BF3 comparison. -

I was going to point that out, but I thought I'd leave it to the universe.

Basic math FTW!

Maybe this is why he couldn't figure out which one is faster...
Just kidding, but honestly have we answered the question yet?

Well I would say that if you can't max out BC2 with 60 fps at native res, then there is no way in heck you are playing BF3 on high. Most likely low/medium for the 560m.
-
-
-
According to this NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M - Notebookcheck.net Tech You can play it on high at around 70 fps, assuming they bump up performance I'm guessing you will be able to play medium graphics at 60 fps or so and low at 80
