Where would the fun be in that?

Anyway I got the machine very cheap (5935g) and the repairs are simple enough.

Going by the 4670 GDDR3 costs it would be quite a bit cheaper than getting a 5650 machine with the same features.

For the money on the GT 240s I can get an HD 4670 with 1GB GDDR3 which would perform better.

Is the 240m might be cooler though (there is a heatsink I could order for it too) which means it might overclock.

I dont know ?? Andre56 want only 100£ for the card and his auction on ebay starts with 70. But if you can find 4670 in this range that off course much better option.

That 240M would be from an MXM 3.0 board though, so it's incompatible.

It's really hard find something about this card. It have for sure 512mb. I cannot find any information about type of ram but we can safly assume that it's Gddr3.

Yeah given the lower thermals it could really clock well. I'll get the Nvidia cooler for the laptop if he parts with it.

Quick checking hwbot and we can say that gt240m is fast and clock as hd4650 ddr3. You can count on ~7000point 3dm06 and slightly below 3000 Vantage. Ok maby it's slightly slower then 4650 if we look on those synthetic but not really much.
