The 5770 when clocked the same. Very close to it. They're made from the same chip.

FWIW, I have a higher 3dmark06 score on my desktop rig (see specs below) than on my asus laptop.

The 5850 is a fair bit faster than the 5770.

Desktop 5850 is almost as fast or just as fast as the desktop 4850x2. So yeah the Mobile 5870 will be slower than the desktop 5850. I hope this helps. God Bless :)

It's actually even slower than a desktop 5770, since 5770 is clocked higher, but then again it's still impressive for a mobile GPU.

What's impressive: compare max power draw of 108W from the desktop 5770 with the 60W of the 5870 Mobile!!!

It's in between the 5750 and 5770. It's got the core shaders of the 5770, but the clocks of the 5750, which puts it about a third to half way between.
Once overclocked though it can often hit 5770 desktop levels and beyond, and even unclocked at a bit faster than the 5750, it's pretty solid for a mobile card..

Will certainly play most games at decent settings at high res, having played around with a clocked and stock 5750 before now :)

Until new mobile cards hit, its THE fastest single mobile card out right now.

If you look at game performances though, the Mobile 5870 is very close to the desktop 5770.

And for clock speeds, you can game on the G73 with 800 clockspeed, very close to the 850 of the 5770 without a notebook cooler.

Not exact equivalent but hope this gives you all an idea. HD5770 Desktop 34.1. Mobile HD5870 33.9

    Yes you do.
64bit exe is slightly faster on Crysis and Warhead.
