Hello, I ran furmark for 5 minutes and wanted to check my temps to see if they were alright, I opened up HWinfo32 and it showed my MemIO and thermal diode at 90C, the shader and dispIO were at 69C-73C, are these good temps or too high? And if they are too high where is the thermal diode and memIO, are they in the middle die?
Thanks,
I attached a screen shot of me running furmark with HWinfo32

while still ok, it is rather high.
not sure where the other two temps are located on the gpu, however i'm assuming at least one of them is the ram chips.
i had similar problems, try cleaning out the fans/heatsinks.
i replaced my thermal paste (a few times actually) and found the best one to be shin-etsu 7783d . if you're afraid to get your hands dirty, just try cleaning out the dust stuck in the vent, chances are, its been building up.
i own a m15x and the 5870m is not even supposed to be in this laptop due to heat... check out my temps (5 min test)

Wow those temps are nice, i have only had this laptop for 1 month so the fans are perfectly fine. I also re-applied the thermal paste with some AS5, the only thing i can think of is that i used too much or too little, do you remember how much you used and the method you used to apply it. Not sure about the shin-etsu but i heard that the A5 doesn't spread too well i might try spreading a thin layer myself with a plastic lunch baggie then putting a tiny blob on the HS.
5870m temps help
