Hi, I was wondering if anyone has tried the new 6.5 catalyst drivers (desktop modded or omega drivers) on their notebooks yet?

I have an x700 card and when i use 6.5drivers, after a reboot(at windows main screen with task bar etc, after the log-on screen), my screen is non-viewable (looks like the screen is damaged). I have to press windows key>"u">"r" to restart because i cant see anything at all.

There was a time when it did work and load up normally without the screen problem, but when i ran 3DMark05 it would make my screen non-viewable again.

Anyone else experiencing this or something similar?? and if u did, is there a fix for it?

    Hi heavenz,

6.5 work. Not as good as 6.3, but many people say there is some gain, especially with adaptive antialiasing on below x1000 cards. It cannot be successfully overclocked or latencies set through Ati tray tools. NHC and ati tool seem to work fine. I am telling you this because I had a similar problem with overclocking through ATT with 6.4 and 6.5. Ati changed something in drivers since 6.4 and unfortunately I get only more problems.

Try uninstalling completely, and installing agin, it may help. Try some older version like 6.3.

    Hope it helps,

    Ivan

I would definately go for Omega drivers 6.3...

They are very stable, good overclocking and great scores and great FPS in game. Like Ivan said those are for X1900XTX cards and such, so stick with 6.3 Omega :)

    Hi there.

I don't know about generic cats 6.5 but Omegas are fine with OC done by ATT both on my mobility x700 and non-mobile 9800Pro. BTW there is some gain in Oblivion on 6.5 compared to 6.3.
