Woot, finally broke 6000 (almost 6100!) with a GDDR3 8600M GT
Specs are in the sig
This was done using 177.35 drivers! my new favorite driver up from 174.74![]()
Test was done at 720/1440/900 with temps never exceeding 80C (no laptop cooler either :O)
crysis stable for 2h+
-
720 core, that pushing it!
-
hell,nice
-
that's insane!
-
BenLeonheart walk in see this wat do?
Insane, good job!
i did the same leap as you lol! 174.74 ->177.35 XD -
i sure did
-
Nice Job....Almost 8700GT
-
tried it on my desktop 8600GT , the driver stopped responding 177.35
-
grats on the OC, but lad, you are frying your Card
-
BenLeonheart walk in see this wat do?
95 C or so, that would be frying it. -
hmm the 177.35 driver is OCable?.. hmm never knew, since ive tried to OC my card with this and it never worked.. whenever i try to OC i;m not the wrong driver. oh well..

Congrats, but one of the posters are right. 720 core with stable temps is impressive.
Good work on the OC. Now get yourself a cooler. Jeebus. -
Hmm.. I get around 6100 3dmarks 640 1280 892. I don't think your score is that impressive. Your overclock is
-

well, he obviously does have a 1440x900 display, so the results are way higher due to the lower resolution. this discussion is soooo old now.
i have 5xxx points, i have 6xxx points... i have read that same thing dozens of times in the last month, and of course all of the posters did use a smaller resolution than the standard of 1280x1024, which makes these results incomparable to those run under real conditions.
would be nice if the people that are posting such results would connect an external monitor and use that one for benchmarking with the standard resolution.
at least then it would make some sense to compare results. -
I get 6055 when I OC to 675/1350/905. I just didn't feel the need to make a thread.
-
Mosty of you fail to see he benchmarked at 1280x1024.
His score dwarfs even my 7950GTX's
Nice. -
That's pretty crazy...
-
insane!
so 177.35>174.74? -
I broke 6200+ 3DMarks with my 8600GT DDR3.. 685/1000 OC. My results were posted in the Dell forum few weeks ago. 1280x800 tested coz my screen rez.
-
seriously i get 95c which no overclock while playing mass effect
and he insanely OCed his gpu and still not breaking 80c??
I guess LG is has better build quality than acer5920g -
He's using a Dell XPS M1530.
I'm impressed that he's not overheating though. -
-
-
It's a ban on saying teletubbies are good?
Well, different laptops have different cooling systems. Your 5920 seems to be running a tad too hot though. Try using a cooling mat, or cleaning out the vents. Or simply visit the cooling central. -
-
If you thought 95 is too hot try some Asus G1S, 104 under load right out of the box 169.04 drivers. -
-
hmm maybe if i lower my core a bit
-
lowest it'll go (in LPM) is 0.925 volts.. undervolting helps the temps ALOT! and since the cpu and gpu share a heatsink on the m1530, decrease the cpu temp -> decrease gpu temp
-
104 is insane. -
it'll save on the electricity/gas that wouldve been used to boil the water AND it'll keep the temps stable longer!
-
hey mine is a hp dv9700t a desktop relpacement .. does that mean it has a nice cooling system
-
my hd 3650 in my laptop overclocked never goes past 75c -
-
-
And acer 5920g have 8600m GT ddr2
-
I run my fans at full blast while gaming and never go past 55c at 615/445 (highest stable clock).
-
But theres no fan controller for the dv9700
-
That`s why a notebook cooler is recommended.
-
And good, im not the only one suffering from ridiculously high temps while playing mass effect.
btw as a point of comparison, how well does 8700gt or 7950 perform on 3dmark06? -
Aww man, over 6k with DDR3?
I get 4.2k with DDR2 and lower res (1280x800). Now I'm jealous. -
There was a guy a while back in the Apple forum claiming near 7,000 with a 8600M (I thought you could only get DDR2 Macbook Pro's) But i know he was lieing , That scores impossible at standard resoloution.
-
The reason I think Mass Effect temps are so high is because it really pushes your CPU as well. And if your CPU and GPU share the same heatsink then that will push your GPU temps up a bit. Usually my GPU only hits 72C while gaming (standard clocks), but will hit 77C when playing Mass Effect.
-
Dire NTropy is right regarding Mass Effect. When playing TF2 and other games even with my overclock I peak at around 69C CPU and 71C GPU. I've hit 79C CPU and 75C GPU in Mass Effect and no other games even come close to that for me.
-
if someone could get 7k with a 8600gt, i'm giving up my notebook for free!
-
-
Just add 'at res 1900x1200'
