Depends which one, the x700 can have 64mb of VRam and will run CS:S fine.

Well, if it is a GMA900, then you maybe can run it alright on low. IEG2 or lower, forget it (even though I'v heard its possible on IEG2, I have the feeling that it wasnt the smoothest).

Haha, no. Nothing newer than maybe Unreal Tournament 2004 will run on that...and even then you'll get atrocious framerates. The Intel Extreme is pretty much the bottom of the totem pole, even as integrated graphics go.

I'd say you need a minimum of a GMA 900 to run CS:S at all; ideally you'd want a fully-dedicated ATi (eg 9600, x700) or nVidia (eg FX 5700, 6600) graphcis card.

Intel Extreme 2 will read as "Intel xx855/xx852 GM/GME" and Intel Extreme is "Intel 825/835/845 GM/GME" in the dxdiag. Neither is acceptable for gaming, however.

Yes, agreed. Intel Extreme graphics 1 can barely play Quake III!! How pathetic is that?

Intel Extreme Gfx 2 are really no better, they just have better memory management. Both are previous-generation, I wouldn't get a notebook with them in there.

If you want a notebook with integrated graphics, be sure to get one with either a GMA900 or Radeon Xpress 200 - the ATi's are superior by a good bit.
