My desktop AGP 6600 GT got 3700 in 3Dmark05

Is this better than normal for this card becuase I think it normally gets lower (the card is not overclocked)

That's normal. 6600GT is quite good in 3DMark05.

You could get better performance by upgrading the drivers. Download the latest from Nvidia's site.

Your score also depends on your CPU. But it is a bit higher than average, I think.

Yeah, that's good for a 6600gt. I can hit 5400 on my gs and 5600 on my gt

Interesting. I have the same CPU and get considerably less (3350 or so, 3750 when overclocked like mad). What model is your 6600GT? Also what motherboard do you have?

The clocks of the 6600GT's vary sometimes between manufacturers too.

Not bad score at all, I get around 3800 on my 6600GT, but it is OC'd and water cooled.

When I got my score, I had loads of programmes running in the background. I'm gonna close them, redo the test and see if there is an improvement

I have a Gigabyte GV-N66T128VP. It's 500/1120 by default (XFX is 500/1000). In theory, the Gigabyte should have gotten more, but in reality, as you can see it's not the case. Of course, it can depend a lot on other hardware, software running on the machine and also on drivers... Sometimes manufacturers optimize drivers for 3DMark. It's ridiculous.

BTW, my card also runs pretty hot - 50-55C while idle, 70-80C under load, but it's explainable, because it's passively cooled.
