I am debating between two MSI laptops that are the same price. One comes with the 675M and the other 670MX. I know the 670MX has the new Kepler architecture but it seems the 675M still beats it in performance.

Any advice on this is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

neither! please save yourself the headache of buying dated-old / new-but-severely-limited (675m and 670mx, respectively) hardware. Either go for a laptop with 675mx or put the money in the piggy bank and wait a bit more.

675m is better when it comes to gaming, although 670mx has more overclocking potential, but overclocking has uncertainty feature with it :p on stock i would say go for 675m but 675mx is still the better option, save some and go for 675mx

    Makes sense.

I think I'm going to go with a Sager with a 7970M from Xoticpc since the pricing is about $100 difference.

    Thanks!

I'm wondering if you could elaborate on the 670mx being limited.
Im currently looking at replacing my dead laptop with either the 670mx or 675mx
Interested in knowing its limits, as I dont want to buy and have buyers remorse

    Thanks

He means the 670MX is bandwidth limited (~67 GB/s). Compared to the 675MX, it has roughly half memory bandwidth. This will cause a performance bottleneck when playing at 1080p resolution and/or anti-aliasing enabled.
