Are there any large differences when playing HL2 or Battlefield 2?

It depends on what you are comparing it to, like the 6800 is better than the 7300(supposedly) but the 7800 GTX is the almighty god. Then of course the regular 7800 follows fairly close to its GTX brother.

But can you notice an actual difference between the 6800 and the 7xxx series?

Doing what? Playing at lower resolutions probably won't make a difference. But, if you want to play at 1600x1200, then you will see that the 7800 is much faster than the 6800.

The 6800go is a little bit slower than 7600go when it comes to benchmarks.

I play call of duty 2 on my 6800 at 1900 resolution, it plays awesome without out a glitch and no pauses.
