I know..it's an old game, but the sandbox style is perfect for casual gamers such as myself, problem is, i can't understand ATI's..have been a NVIDIA fanboi for eons (after my first and only run-in with the ATI on the rage 128)
I have a M17Xr3 with the 6970, but the issue is i don't have single clue how to make it work optimally...i installed the 11.8's Catalyst as indicated on the AW forum, and finally got it done, but the performance is 'orrible...
i know it can run at 19*10,
i need settings and catalyst that fellow NBR users are running with the 6970 (any config...but prefrebally if SB's i7 range so the settings make more sense)
if you could tell me your CCC settings i could work from there to fix this issue
i am running on the 1.04 patch of the GTA4, and NOT THE 1.07.....
retail version GTA4, with 11.8 catalysts, on the 2720QM and 8GB DDR RAM on RAID 1.3TB..on win64, fully updated and patched
please help...all this is driving me insane

I run all settings maxed at 1080p, except for night shadows (completely off) and vehicle density set to 50%. With no AA, I get anywhere from about 40-60 fps, which is noticeable during the dips, but perfectly playable. AA at 4X (using morphological AA, I don't think normal AA works with this game due to some renderer reasons) brings me down to about 30-45 fps. Driver version I'm currently using is 11.8. Haven't noticed any framerate differences with this game from any Catalyst version from 11.4 on up. Using 1.07 patch. Obviously my other specs are in my sig.
