Ive tried reinstalling windows from scratch a couple of times now today and ive narrowed it down to the video card. This is a sager/clevo P170HM. I install all windows updates and hardware drivers EXCEPT video card and computer acts like normal. 0 issues through a bunch of reboots from updates.

I then install video drivers from AMD and the computer acts like it wants to boot, but then just goes to black screen after the windows logo. The video card was getting glitchy when running some games in past month or so. Is there something I can try before ordering a new computer?

It seems, 99% sure, that your GPU is dead. When GPUs are dying, they get glitches and errors in games, displaying wrong textures and information, causing freezes/glitches etc. If your computer is working without the GPU drivers, it is safe to say that your GPU is dead.

Thanks for the confirmation! After looking on eBay - I think the best bet is to just buy a new laptop, right? As opposed to spending 250ish on a used video card?

Yeah.. The P170HM is real a pile of crap when it comes to upgrading etc so just get rid off it and get something new!
