Is it normal for my 6990M to run in the upper 80's while gaming? I was playing KoA:Reckoning earlier and it was running just a little under 90.

Yes it's normal. Just type "clevo 6990m temp" in the google search bar.

If the core is reaching that temperature than you should probably repaste again, you might not have done a good job of it the first time. But if its the VRAM that's reaching that temp then I would say that's normal for that card, you can always try new thermal pads. Is the back of the computer elevated so that you're getting proper airflow to cool the card?

As long as it's staying 90C, you might as well ignore it.

Bit too hot there! Mine runs at 69C max @ 830/1030 for hours upon hours, even with the most demanding games

Guys, it really depends on the laptop brand...alienware run cooler than sager.

My 6990m runs steadily at 67c during furmark, but the sagers run hotter. 80 under load is about normal for sager...Raise the back or sit the laptop on a laptop cooler to drop the temps another 5c on sagers

Aside from the fact that you put a 100w GPU into a laptop that wasn't intended to have anything higher than a 75w GPU in it. That's your own fault...

The 6990M runs hotter due to the higher stock voltage, however you can undervolt it if you want it to run cooler. :p

However these GPUs can overclock like mad on the stock voltage. I see 850/1000 regularly. ;)

I repasted a few days ago and alas the temps came down. Running msi kombuster, it maxes 84c and all of my games have brought it up to 78ish. I can't take the vram up much at all before the temps start climbing, so perhaps new TIM pads are in order. Any advice on where to find these?
