I own a 6990m
I own a fast TV that scales well, I dont see the differances between 720p and 1080p at 6 feet back.
I was thinking of buying a 680m
Do you think the 680M will still be faster?
I score 19999 vantage gpu at 720p
what does the 680m OC hit on vantage at 1080p?
what do you guys think I should do, buy a 680m and sit closer or sticck with the 6990m and sit back a bit?
edit.
I was fiddling around looking for the cpu bottleneck and its at 1600x900 then it becomes the bottleneck. I score 14600 vs 15200 at 1600x900 vs 1080p.
makes me feel good knowing I just added 5000 points worth of performance at 0 visual quality loss... I guess I need a fast cpu or wait on the next gen

i would stay with 6990m, 680 is too expensive to justify
-
I would have done the same on my P170HM but in the end the 680m was cheaper to get into Norway. -
You should be fine with the 6990M at 1080p anyway it is still a very good card, I was sad to see mine go and could run it upto 850/1100 and it flew.
The 680M is a very very good card but you would be much better off waiting to next year for the next series because that will be a very big jump from the 6990M. -
yiddo good point.
I was messing with crysis and I can max the game with 8x AA and get a min of 25 high of 55 and average 35fps so its all good as they say.
witcher 2 run ultra without aa at about 30-60 fps and sleeping dogs runs at like 95fps with nice settings. Iguess im not thinking clearly. I lowered the resolution to match the performance of a 680m i crysis and only got like 10 fps more. not enough for a 900 dollar upgrade. I think ill stick with this card till im hitting low/medium.. basically 3 years...2years left
6990m OC(720p) vs gtx 680m OC(1080p)
