Yo everyone this is my first post i recently bought a laptop for about 1000 which is my price range here are the config : amd dual 1.9 ghz, 2gb ram, nvidia 7000m, vista

i read a review by pulp about the 7150m and was wondering what the difference was between the 7150m and 7000m and if i could use this card to play games like fear, pro evo 6, nfs most wanted etc or is the card not good enough

    thanks

Doubtful, and if you could, you would need to set ALL of the settings to the lowest.

If you can still return it, do it now, and get a computer with at least an 8400m GS.

harpreet beat me to it. $1000 for that setup is way to much. For a grand you can get a M1530 off the outlet no problem.

you can easily get a fully loaded Dell Vostro 1500 w/ 8600M GT for around $700.

    or even Vostro 1700

Check the Dell Outlet as well.

they are identical, 7150 is pretty much a refresh of 7000. and they are the crappiest card you can find on the market.

S3 UniChrome graphics is worse :D

Yeah the 7150 and 7000 are pretty much the second worst cards ever made. Gaming would be impossible.

Yeah games are definitely out of the question, and HD video might not play very well at ALL either. I had a tablet PC (HP tx1000 series) and it had the 6150M I think? I'm not too sure, but all I know is that it was a peice of crap, and HD videos were almost as bad as my old crap desktop (celeron, 512 MB RAM, S3 UniChrome graphics etc etc).

    No games, period.

lol isn't the 7150M not much better (not much better at ALLLLL) than the Intel X3100?

You could probably play a few games here and there, but literally on the lowest resoulutions (640x480) and lowest settings possible. And at that it might be very choppy.

you can PLAY the games, but at the LOWEST resolution and LOWEST setting, and even then it won't be pleasurable.

Please post some screen shots! You may have the Prophet of IGP's.

Seriously though, download fraps, and show us some screens of you running NFS at the "highest resolution". And F.E.A.R... yeah, I can't wait to see those screen shots.

Not saying you were lying. ;)

Just Google "Fraps" and download it. Run the program while running the game, (background), and take some screenshots. I believe the default screenshot key is F10, but not for sure. It will show your framerate, so we can see how playable it really is.

I wouldn´t say he´s lying, I´ve got a similar setup and I play Pro Evolution Soccer 6, 800 x 600 at med detail and it runs pretty smooth. Rome Total War runs on med at 1024 x 768 also. It´s a mixed bag, some games feels more optimized for nvidia graphics so they run better than others. Games 2005 and forward is a little out of question though :)
