Its a multi part question really... does anybody know if the half-life2 version of counter-strike is the only one being played or do people still play the original half-life version? I'm betting that the 700m won't be able to handle the graphics requirements of H-L2. Also, anybody know any good shooters that have a decent community that the 700m would be able to handle?
Thanks

The Inspiron 700m comes with the Intel integrated graphics solution, I don't remember if it is the Intel 900 or the Intel Extreme Graphics 2 IGP options, but either way no integrated graphics solution is ment for games. You might be able to run Half-Life 2 at the lowest possible settings but don't quote me. Since my desktop is much older than my notebook, I am still constantly playing the original Half-Life with Counter-Strike. Although I play with my friends over our network and on my new notebook, but still, we play it. We don't play it as often now that Half-Life 2 has been out for some time.
As for online fps with the 700m, I don't think there are any now as most people have migrated to the likes of Half-Life 2 and Battlefield 2. The 700m should be able to play Unreal Tournament 2004 fine but I don't know about the number of online communities for UT2004. I honestly didn't know there was a online community for Half-Life 2 Counter-Strike as I only play over LAN parties. -
i dont know if the intergrate graphics would work, but i do know of people running the lowest setting for CS:S with their x300 64mb or 128mb card with it running smoothly. I really like my 6800 for CS:S. The other answer is yes, CS:S is a big online community, probably over 10000+ servers. And just think about CS 1.6. The possibilities are endless.

Well, it's possible to run CSS on IEG2 - but let me warn you that it will run under DX7, and will be not a pretty sight.
