Over 72 hours has elapsed since the games release on Tuesday without any fix or even official mention of the HUGE ongoing problems regarding the multiplayer in Crysis 2.

Essentially, the multiplayer does not work at all. Basically, all the ranked servers are messed up leading to a infinite lobby screen where the match never starts. Playing on unranked servers is hard to do because there are so few of them and they typically have unwanted game modifiers enabled, as well of course, being unranked.

Way to go Crytek, way to treat your #1 fanbase. Then of course there's the whole fiasco regarding the lack of advanced graphics options, input lag and seriously bugged AI. Stupid, stupid, stupid of me to waste $60 on this broken, piece of crap console port.

Unless it's patched soon, this game is going to be thrown into the "played for a week and then never again bin" just like Far Cry 2 was. And I still haven't gotten over buying that POS.

Just as well Far Cry 2 wasn't developed by Crytek, otherwise you probably wouldn't have bought this game in the 1st place.

Have you not been able to play multiplayer AT ALL with this game?!

Did Crytek rush through the release without properly coding their multiplayer connectivity? It seems a few players of the game have succeeded in accessing ranked servers.

And Crysis 2 runs WORSE than Crysis 1. I get MUCH HIGHER FPS in Crysis 1 at HIGHER SETTINGS...

Yep, in two days I've only managed to get into one ranked server after many, many tries.

The best part of all however, is how they have not said a word about the problems.

It's such a shame. I had such high hopes for this game, and it turned out to be a complete joke. Hopefully they fix the server issues so those of you who bought the game can get your moneys worth.

Wow good thing i didn't buy this yet.. This is a joke. Although Black Ops Multiplayer had problems , this is a joke in comparison. Very nice or Crytek.

Exactly. I'm still trying to come to terms with the fact that most developers don't care about us PC gamers and just sweep us under the rug like trash.

I'm actually enjoying... REALLY enjoying. The SP and the MP.

And, Crysis 2 made me realize that my laptop ain't a good overclocker because I got a yellow screen while OC'd, so it showed me those clocks ain't stable ( 735/870 ).

    Cheers Crytek! :p

It doesn't 'run worse', it just has newer more advanced 3D shaders, effects, and after-effects which require more juice to run. You're talking about Crysis 2 as if they just used Crysis 1 engine and slapped on a new story.

Actually no. The deferred shading and lighting used in Crysis 2 are actually more efficient than the methods used in Crysis 1. Crysis 2 should run faster than Crysis 1.

Crysis 1 > Crysis 2. For PC, the CryEngine 2 is better than the CryEngine 3 for graphics.

I think it's less efficient possibly because Crytek simply spent all their time getting their new engine to squeeze as much performance possible from the 360 so it would match the PS3.

If Crytek spent the same amount of time on PC, I have little doubt it could run faster and look better.

Yes, but they said, if you run Crysis 1 at x settings, those x settings will earn you more FPS in Crysis 2, because it is more optimized...

I don't know where the crysis 1 runs better than crysis 2 comes from....but I'm getting around 40 fps average on my rig which is WAY better fps than crysis 1 ever got at high settings. Personally I would take Crysis 2 anyday over Crysis 1.....but that's my 2 cents. :)

Maybe it's the bland, urban environment but Crysis 1 looks way better maxed out than Crysis 2 on "extreme" on the PC.

i mean crysis didn't exactly have a good multiplayer in my opinion. i'm not sure where all the hype came from for this one. i figured it would be a bit broken, especially in terms of game play. the single player for crysis was quite fun, however.

AH HA! All the configs starting with sys_ are USELESS! Even if you put, let's say, sys_spec_objectdetail=3 in autoexec.cfg or system.cfg, if you are in "High" setting ( it's number 1 in console ), it will automatically override the configuration YOU made. I just watched it today because I wrote in console sys_spec_objectdetail and it showed me I had set in 1, when my configuration had it set in 3!

Also, SSAO, and AA related commands don't do anything. Motion Blur related commands do though. And e_shadows doesn't do anything too.

So, if you want to change the following :

    sys_spec_PostProcessing
    sys_spec_shading
    sys_spec_texture
    sys_spec_objectdetail
    sys_spec_physics
    sys_spec_sound
    sys_spec_gameeffects
    sys_spec_shadows
    sys_spec_water

You need to change them in the INGAME CONSOLE. Not in the cfg.

I don't see how anyone who bought the game cannot be outraged.

since the day crytek made a deal with ea they were doomed

any studio that makes a deal with EA is doomed the longest survivor today is bioware let them finish ME3 and maybe the DA serie if there are some comming after the 2 and i'm preaty sure it will start going down the drain

    Well i cant complain.
Didnt tested sp yet but i just got my LE order downloaded and i fired up multiplayer (with all the bonuses of the le/preorder).
It plays great, every match i joined was ok and performance is awesome.
Yeah there are a few things to correct here and there but i dont see how the multi is broken as badly as op says.
Not here at least, it works perfectly on my desktop and xps (see sig).

same as the rest of you im having serious problems with the game and also my drdicated server.
on release it wouldnt accept my clan log in so used my old log in from back in the day.
added bonus pack by mistake and now cant add it to my clan login.
starts of on level 5 with all the bonuses so i can activate profile 1 with all the upgrades. then when you go into lobby it shows level 5 next to user name but level 2 in the picture at the bottom right of screen. then in game it all resets back to level 1 with no bonuses. log out and in again and it promps you have bonus pack to add and start all over again.

server keeps crashing and doesnt show up in search. only way to find it is to search ip address. multiplay clan forge server control panel is total pants and errors are showing up all the time and shutting down. 3 support messages sent to crytec and none responded to.
and to top it all off yesterday my graphics card died. rip 9800GT long live 260GFX

Wow, amazing. Not only are PC Games being streamlined with console UI and functions...

It seems console players are starting to decide their consoles don't provide the graphic eye candy they want. But they don't want to play a PC Game. Now they are attempting to force PC Gamers to allow them advantages so they can play Console FPS in online PC FPS.

MyCrysis • View topic - No auto Aim ? Why ?

This thread is full of obnoxious console players demanding auto aim so they can kill PC Gamers easier. They are complaining without auto aim they cannot compete against the PC Gamers who have been practicing with keyboard and mouse for years and years.

I think it's an absolute disgrace they are demanding to be given an advantage because they choose to use an inferior controller for online competition. I have a feeling BF3 will be under the same pressure and who knows, maybe DICE will cave. You may see auto-aim in BF3... The obvious exploit is that you plug in a controller and then plug in your mouse. Auto-Aim on + Mouse = cheating for free brought to you by whiny console players. I hope this doesn't happen, Crytek shut that door and ingored these whiners. But I wonder if DICE will.

Haha, the thread has some good responses from PC Gamers for the console gamers.

If you get auto-aim, then I demand invulnerability for PC Gamers. Haha! That's great.

    update from previous problems.
    one more problem to add.
single campaign wasnt saving so after 4 hours of play and logging out of steam it reset to start of campaign again ARGHH!
on a brighter note the MP has been running well and my dedicated server only seems to crash once or twice a day so things are getting better.

what really pisses me off is the cheats are everywhere. reading the steam forums the god mode is being used as well as invincible.
ive noticed it twice on my server today. start a game and within 30 seconds one player has 20 kills and the septh lazer is all over the place.
so much for the anti cheat so far.

all in all though im loving the maps and gameplay even though im getting my a$$ wooped.

So... how's Crysis 2 treating you chaps now? I'm still busy with my 2nd run through DA2 and first round of AC Bros. Crysis can wait.

Kinda gave up on the original Crysis after the Matrix aliens popped up.

This was posted in the MyCrysis Forums by the Forum Admin.

It appears to have no mention of DX11, sandbox editor or even patching the visuals to match what they showed in the demonstrations overthe past 2 years of Crysis 2 footages.

But looks like you MP might be fixed and fix the security for you. We've all seen the player who is a bullet cushion and doens't seem to die or cloacked perpetually etc.

Bought a retail copy, called EA to get a refund, they told me they would send me a sealed copy when i send them mine so i can return it to the retailer, but itll take >2 weeks for it to arrive and will go past the 30 return window. So im screwed either way. Just going to wait until they fix it.
Had i known there was no DX11 on release date I would have never bought it.

DX11 isn't what makes the game bad. Frankly I think DX9 Crysis 2 is better than any of the DX11 games I've seen released or nearly as good (BC2).

But in Crysis 1 everything was destructible. In Crysis 2 you can destroy a car. But a tiny tree can withstand a C4. You can destroy a metal doors when prompted. But a wooden crate next to it, again bomb proof. Sometimes something can be destroyed, other times it can't. Meaning even the destruction is scripted.

The MP was an issue, but supposedly CryTek updated that today, the anti-cheating. Client patch for stability still not available.

Anyways, I think there are more pertinent reasons to want a refund for Crysis 2 than DX11. DX11 doesn't improve the gameplay, textures or the physics. All it offers is a little better performance, and some eye candy you can't see unless you screenshot and stare at it for 5 minutes. During gameplay negligible. The CryTek tech demo of Crysis 2 footages were amazing. It's too bad so much of that was stripped and removed from the final game. The DX9 Crysis 2 could be substantially better than what we have now.

I must manually enter my serial key each time I want to sign into multiplayer... I've actually memorized my key now. All twenty digits. And it never seems to save because quitting Crysis 2 causes it to crash. Mmmm fun!

Any text files I can edit to make it think I have a key upon launch? Anybody knows?

I've had that issue with COD4 and MW2 , and Black Ops too.. It happens when you crash in the game sometimes in multiplayer.. Logging off or restarting the game fixes it.

i had to enter the key each time for the first 2 days but now its stored.
ive noticed at least 3 updates on steam for crysis 2 so the patches are being rolled out slowly.

That the game doesnt have DX11 and I already bought it isnt enough for me to want to return it. BUT since the game was released on 3/22, and its 4/1 and I STILL CANNOT play multiplayer, its frustrating. I reinstalled the game and still have the same problem.
You are right though, the graphics are still amazing, but there is alot I want to change but can't because they didnt include an advanced graphics menu (I really do not like Post Processing effects.) In the meantime I'm playing AC:Brotherhood, which also has really graphics, sharp colors and a good story.
