These two laptops are priced very close, will the acer perform better with games since it has the 7300, whereas the HP has the 6150? Or is there not much difference?

The 7300 is more powerful than the 6150. See the GPU guide for more info.

Not just more powerful, vastly more so.

yeah there is going to be a pretty big gap between those two cards. if you really want to play games though, an 8400m gs / go 7600 is pretty much minimum entry these days.

to put it in perpective. The 6150 isl ike a tricycle, and the 7300 is like a formula 1 car. So you decide. Would you rather race with a tricycle, or a formula 1 car?

Thx. Just seems odd that two similarly priced laptops have very different video cards. So the Acer has a nicer card and is cheaper. WHat am I missing, is the Acer a piece of junk?? I can't really find a review of this particular model...

No, the all the 7XXX series and ATi's X1xxx series cards are no longer needed because they are dx 9, and now they have the 8 series, and the HD 2 series. So therefore, the DX9 cards go WAY down in price. Also, no one wants to buy those cards, because they are low end.
7300 vs 6150
