right..hello all-my first post and would like to contribute some findings.
standard running pcmark2005-3661...is this crap?
i ran nvtweak to activate setting in nvid
anways..the factory setting are 3d clock frequency-450 Mhz
Memory clcok frequency 500Mhz
when i presses "find optimum" i was s***tin it. its went up and up. all the way to:
clcok frequency 495 & memory clock frequency 590. Wow...and then i press "test"..it said, the system ran for a few sec but stopped responding.
Im afriad to go any further.advice please.

It sounds like you overclocked too far if your machine is locking up.
Do the games run fine at stock? If so, then there is no reason to overclock . . don't take an unnecessary risk. However, if you want more performance, only go 5-10MHz at a time on the core & memory, then play a game or do something 3D to see how stable it is.

yes..3661 was my score. Happy to hear its high
spec
t2400 1.83Ghz
1 Gb/Go DDR2 SDRAM (533Mhz)

erm..everything standard....not installed the fup hot fix yet..cos don't know if i should....i'm scared to reinstall my pc...sony comes with no recovery disk(need to make yourself)-just brought this laptop lastweek
oh..can i ask? how to check whether m laptop has a seperate fan on the GPU? i'm using NotebookHardware Control and its saying the temp is around 55c, fan comes on at around 59. How to set the fan to come on earlier? i don't run this laptop on batteries.

The Go 7600 is a great chip that runs very cool, but you'll find overclocking on this particular part doesn't yield great results; changes in clock speed need to be VERY substantial to show any real performance benefit. This one's mostly memory bus and pipeline limited.
You'll gain maybe a couple frames per second, but it's not enough to notice.
Am I the only one who's never seen any actual appreciable benefit in overclocking video hardware that makes it worth the risk of potentially voiding the warranty and damaging the card? Video hardware is pretty delicate and doesn't have the overclocking safeguards built into it like a regular CPU and memory do, at least not as far as I can tell. -
I've never once overclocked a GPU. If its too bad to play, then a) I need to get back to work on my laptop anyways, or b) I need to get a new laptop.
