Does anyone know anything about ZT laptops?
I am looking at 2 systems on new egg, both are about identical but with different cards and different CPU's. The one with the 7600 is 100 bucks cheaper.
Any suggestions? Just looking for some opinions on which is better overall.

From a games point of view the GPU is always a bottleneck before the CPU is, so I'd go with the 7600 if that's your angle. Is it a GS or GT 8400? Neither are quite as good as the 7600 (GT is close) so perhaps if it is a GT then it'd worth it overall.

Have you completed the FAQ in the What Should I Buy forum? We can help you a lot more there.

As Chaz says, but also links to both helps.

Chaz - yes, I did fill that out, no responses yet. I posted here since I am specifically asking about the cards and what they were paired with, I figured it was appropriate.
The GPU is just listed as an 8400m G with the S or T conveniently missing, it's newegg, so I would expect better labeling. For the price, I would assume it is an S.
the AMD with the 7600 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834210004
the Intel with the 8400 -

edit - looked up the 8400M versions -

There is a 8400 G (no S or T) - 1/2 the pipes of the GS, so I assume it is majorly gimped... still looking for opinions... -

From the specifications the ZT laptop only has the 8400M-G, which is weaker than the -GS. I would not consider it if that is the case - the -GS is fine in my opinion, but go any lower and the playability of more recent games comes into question.
Even though the AMD laptop is cheap it is a generation behind the times. The Dell Vostro 1500 can be had for under $1,000 with an 8600M-GT, take a look at it. -
I have a preffered account, but I can't use that on the small business site. That, and they only configure it with Vista home basic or small business, and I want home premium, and don't want to buy the OS seperate. I could get it with XP I suppose, but I was hoping to use this with Vista to try it out.

You can always use Windows AnyTime upgrade to get a better version of Vista. Personally I would stick to XP - better performance. Vista is bloated.
7600 go w/AMD TL-50 or 8400 go with core 2 duo T7100
