People on this forum say that they get 60 fps on cs:s with the 7600 go? I was also told that it's hard to compare gos to non gos... My PC has a 256 mb 7600gs, the trouble is, without AA on 1280 x 1024 I only get around 40 fps, even though the GOs say they get 60 fps on 1600 1200?

At 1680x1050 no AA I get usually around 40-50 fps, stress test I can get around 50.

1600 x 1200 doesn't exist on notebooks. I think most people who have Go 7600 probably have 1280 x 800 or there abouts. Some notebooks have 1440 x 900, and some have 1680 x 1050. Those are much smaller resolutions than that of 1600 x 1200. However, you should be able to get 40 FPS on 1280 x 1024 with no AA. Make sure that the card clockspeeds are correct and install the latest driver. System specifications should also be considered. If you want to game, it is very recomended that you have 2 GB of RAM.

It depends on what games you want to play. If it is something like Battlefield 2/2142, then you will certainly want to have 2 GB of RAM. That game is very RAM demanding. May I ask, what the rest of the system specification is?

Hm... I knew bf2 would need more...

    Specs:

    Athlon 64 X2 2.4ghz :D
    1gb of ram (533 i think)
    256mb GF 7600GS

The specifications are fine. They should be able to handle the game. but yes, you will require 2 GB of RAM. Does the game stutter or pause when you are playing. If it is, then it is almost certainly because of a lack of RAM. Are there any other games that suffer from FPS loss?

Bf2 pauses sometimes, but Cs:s runs smoothly, shouldn't it run better though?

Battlefield should run much smoother with that extra 1 GB of RAM, but I'm not too sure about CS:S. It may run a little better, but I won't think CS:S will benfit all too much.

Yes it does. 1600 x 1200 is just UXGA (not widescreen).

    1 extra gb ram?

    Your problem is 7600gs tbqh.

If you were gonna upgrade I'd use the money you were gonna use, sell your card, and get at least a 7600gt.

As i know their is diffrent version of 7600gs, it is budget version of 7600 and have ddr2 memory(some, other have ddr1). 7600go have ddr3(most of them) as i know so i am not sure that 7600go is much wors 7600gs if at all. But cant say for sure, just spekulating.

The 7600GS isnt a very fast card. A 7300GT beats it in many cases. If the 7600Go is based on the 7600GT then the Go will be faster by a rather large margin.

Wow.. so my graphics card is not that good after all..

Is the x1600 pro better than the 7600gt? Because in the store it's cheaper.

    This doesn't make sense to me, mathematically. A 7900GS will smoke a 7600GT, so why would a 7300GT beat a 7600GS?

Steve I don't think it has anything to do with the 7x00 part. It depends on how many pipelines are involved, how much VRAM is involved and also the MHz on the core and memory.

k, so is the 7600 go anygood, cause my default is 450 core clock and 350 memory, and i can oc it to about 530 core clock, and 460memory. However, 3dmark 05 doesn't run. my original mark for 3dmark 05 is like 2800 which i don't know is low or no. And, my marks on cinebench double.

    Is yours a 128MB or 256MB Go7600? Even for the 128MB version, 2,800 points isn't that great. For a 256MB version, there's something wrong.

Try a more moderate overclock and see what sort of results you get. Updating your video drivers may help:
