Does anyone have any feedback on running battlefield 4 with a 760m at 1920x1080?

I have a razer blade 14 with a 765m and with a slight overclock I can run bf4 at 1600x900 with some settings on ultra and maintain 40fps. I can not stand the screen that the blade uses. It's.... disgusting. Will a slightly clocked 760m be able to handle the task at 1080p?

Here is the link to the machine. It is the gigabyte P34G. Newegg.com - GIGABYTE P34G-CF1 Intel Core i7 4700HQ(2.40GHz) 8GB Memory 1TB HDD 128GB SSD 14.0" Notebook Windows 8

The Lenovo Y510p is a decent budget gaming PC.

I was really hoping to stay in the 14inch range. However that lenovo is especially at that price. How is the display on it? It is really important to me that the display is good. I heard great things about the display on the p34g, near IPS quality. That pretty much the entire reason why I'm already retiring the razer .

Is it a wise idea to run SLI on a laptop? Heat issues?

After looking at the dimensions of the lenovo I think I'm going to have to pass. It is nearly 2x the thickness of the p34g. I'm not expecting 780m performance out of an gaming ultrabook, but i am looking for something "comparable" to the razer blade 14.

I'm assuming I may be out of luck? Sounds greedy of me to say a 2k laptop I own isn't good enough, but gosh, the display is horrid.

Why not the Clevo W230ST / Sager NP7330? Same specs as s the Blade, but quality 1080p IPS and easily upgradeable.

765m is ~ 15% faster than the 760m, and 765m also should have higher overclock headroom. Unless you have a modded vBIOS you will only be able to overclock the 760m +135MHz (792MHz) which would still fall short of the 765m stock speed of 850MHz. I think with 760m though you should be able to run within 10% the FPS of 765m.

Otherwise your 13-14" options are all 760m or less performance. I compiled this list a while back, but I don't think it's changed much, but have a look at the bottom of this post listing competitive 14" notebooks: http://forum.notebookreview.com/sag...-clevo-w230st-sager-np7330-owners-lounge.html

Is that single player or multiplayer? What map? ETC. Thanks for the info but with BF4 unfortunately performance is all over the place, best way to report it is with video with FPS, especially when it comes to lower FPS.

Here's 765m stock clocks at 1080p high settings for the most part (FPS limited to 58FPS to keep temps under control):

    And here's 765m OC'd a bit at Ultra settings 1080p:

What tanks after Shanghai? Single player campaign in no way taxes the system nearly what multiplayer can, is all I'm saying.

    This ^

Multiplier is all that i'm concerned about it.

I looked at the 13in clevo and read some reviews but I feel that the machine is too thick. It sucks that it's not possible to overclock the 760m unless there is a modified BIOS. If the P34G is anything like the razer it does not have a dedicated vBios to mod.

    Ug, kind of torn here.

Its not too dangerous if you take the proper precautions. The real danger is the actual modded BIOS that can brick the machine. That's why you only flash from trusted sources such as slv7.

In your situation, you are going to have to make a decision as to whether you want to game on high settings on a good screen, or have a thin & light notebook. You cannot do both. You will have to compromise on one or the other. You are attempting to fight the laws of physics and you will not win. So either hit the gym and do some reps so you can handle a heavier notebook or find a thin notebook with a screen you like and play at reduced settings. Sorry for the bad news, but it is what it is.

It's not "too thick". It's definitely thicker, just not super slim, but also has user expansion for RAM, HDD/SSD, mSATA, and easily repaste CPU and GPU, and sports a quality 1080p IPS screen.

Otherwise, wait for the Lenovo Y50, coming in a couple months. GTX 860m (should be faster than 765m by a decent amount), up to 16GB DDR3, 4k or 1080p screen, i7-4702HQ, < 1 inch thick... Looks tasty. :)
