Hello, is this a good GPU for the latest shooters like Far cry 3 and Metro last light considering it would run at 1600x900?
It will either be this or a 8970 at 1920x1080 but with a increase in more then €300. So i dont if that justifies the cost at the performance?

As long as I prefer "Team Green" above "Team Red", I gotta say that you should go for the HD8970M. Much better card, just find the good drivers for it.

At 1600x900 the 765m is great. 8970m is significantly more powerful though and having a 256-bit but 1080p shouldn't be a problem for it. At 1080p you will likely get 50-100% FPS improvement with the 8970m over the 765m. At 900p, the performance difference won't be so great, but still significant.

Those benchmark numbers above are way below EVERY video I've seen while researching. I had an order in for the gx60 and backed out. Something about having an amd setup was giving me cold feet(buyer's remorse) and I don't want to be second guessing a $1300 purchase.

Here's a video of metro last light @ medium 1080p running 40fps on old drivers and the 3630.
    Metro Last Light on MSI GT70 | GTX 675MX + i7 3630QM + 16GB RAM - YouTube

    Same computer, bf3 @ 45-60fps on ultra
    Battlefield 3 on MSI GT70 | GTX 675MX + i7 3630QM + 16GB RAM - YouTube

The 765m is a fine option at the price point, I try to sell myself on the amd, even made the purchase. The 4th gen i7 obliterates anything amd has out, and the 765m is fine for medium-high gaming for a couple years. The difference in the apu and the i7, you can lower your detail in the game and gain fps because you're not being bottle necked by the processor. Which means even a couple years from now, you'll be able to play the newer games, just by dialing back the graphics.

765M is plenty for 1600x900. You will be able to run games on high no problem.

I can do that on a 675M at 1080 which is comparable to the 765M at 900..
