Is there anymore people than me on this board with a 7800GTX Go? I own a XPS M170 with a 2.13GHZ Single Core and an overclocked 450/1200 7800GTX.

I must say that I´m still amazed of what this GPU is capable of. Currently running Oblivion in 1920x1200 and Test Drive Unlimited at 1920x1200. Stalker at 1680x1050. Still amazing I can play these games at this resolution. Now Oblivion is heavily optimized from my part and Test Drive Unlimited I run at settings low and no HDR. Still the game looks kickass at 1920x1200 display.

Still envy you M1710 owners out there, but I think I will wait a while till Dell releases a new XPS with a 8800go. No rush though since I own a desktop computer too with a 3GHz Core2 Duo, 8800GTX and 2GB 800MHz HyperX memory. But still I prefer to play on my laptop with it´s great screen.

Yeah that was what I assumed it does given the 128bit bus on both the 8600 and 8700. By the way you who own a Clevo what is your 7800GTX clocked at?

i've got a 7800gtx also, along with a t5500. but i cant overclock, i wish i could. my settings in oblivion are at 1400 by 900 with sliders set to medium, and other things to about max and bloom. i couldn't go any higher without severly low frame rates. other then that i am pretty happy with performance, and i've owned a 7900gtx. call of jaurez works on almost max at 1024 by 768 with framerates around 40-45. I think i'm going to keep it until the 8800 mobils come out. does anyone know how to over clock a locked 7800gtx (i know its possible)

My 7800GTX is running at stock (400/1100) at the moment, it seems fine for all of my gaming purposes, although i had push it to 425/1250 to get the 3DMark06 score of 4800.

Nice what driver do you use then Gophn?

Tangent you have to flash your card in order to overclock it.

Oh by the way I just managed to run STALKER in 1920x1200 and with Full Dynamic Lighting with frames around 28-35fps running outside and inside, some small dips to 25 sometimes. Guess what I did, I just put Frame to Render Ahead to 7. I know Oblivion doesn´t like this but other games I got improvements in was 30fps in Test Drive compared to 25-28 before and same for STALKER got a frame boost because of this option. That´s amazing that I can run STALKER at 1920x1200 with playable FPS. Really fun to tweak :)

8700 should at least tie the 7800gtx in performance, the desktop 8600GT ties the desktop 7800gt in most games and in games like oblivion it's much better.

I use to have a 7800GT in my older desktop which became my parents PC. If the cards anything like that one, it must be an awesome card. Glad many people are still getting good use out of it.

tangent I use a USB flash drive to flash my bios. I use nibitor to make my own bioses and then save them to my USB flash drive which I have made bootable.

Yeah I can imagine the 8700 being fast in shader intensive games, but it still crippled by it's 128 bit memory interface. Though it should be faster but I doubt it given it's crippled.
