Okay I am REALLY scared and I am hoping someone here can help.

    Here is what happened.

Just in the mail about three hours ago I recieved my brand new dell e1705 notebook, I had done a bunch of research before hand and was following the directions found http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=64385

Now if you will notice in that tutorial there is NO mention of a rev. 1 video card (You know where I am going with this don't you?

So I put the disc in, and flashed with this command

    nvflash v4851100.rom

It flashed, said it was successfull, and I reboted, I was presented with a lovely black screen (followed by me hitting my head on the table)

I noticed at that point that even though the screen was black, it light up, and the caps lock light still worked, so the comptuer was running, so I followed the steps to try and get it back to the way it was, I figured I just made the card too high, so this time while I was blind, I typed

    nvflash 4101000.rom
and it went BEEP and I pressed enter
I waited some time, and restarted
this time, even worse! the caps lock light won't work, I don't think its booting that cd because the disc spins when I turn the computer on, but I can't get it to "respond" and the screen didn't get brighter.

I followed the instructions on how to fix a bad flash to the stock rev1 bios, but thats no good.

did I just spend $2000 on a brick???

    what do I do!!!!! ???!!!!????

RMA the card/notebook... usually there is no way to fix a bad flash.. thats why usually there are a ton of warnings to do so at your own risk.

Im pretty darn sure that voided your warrenty, so you better cook up a good story and hope you talk to the right people when you try to get it fixed/replaced.

Does anyone know how to reset the bios on the computer?

Not the video card bios, I am saying the actual motherboard bios.

Even with the dead flash, it used to boot from cd at least, now it won't do ****!

    Here you go:

Its all in the therad you linked too....

As for mobo bios they are fine, if you try to mess with them you will probably end up in worse shape... what you need is to find the key sequence to boot from CD.

first you need to use magiciso to make iso file from your boot cd. then add *.rom to the iso file, and burn it back to cd. boot system from your cd. and type nvflash xxxx.rom on dos prompt.

Yeah it was a new machine they cross shiped him I think, that or he sent the other one in for a fix and they sent it back. He had like 2 or 3 threads going so the rest of the story is in one of the other threads.
