Just got a brand new rig with 2gb Ram and a 7950GTX GO 512mb Nvidia. I am having issues playing any game in general. I've played MOH:AA, BF1942, BF2, and am getting serious lag issues on any setting. I don't really know what is going on. My driver version is 6.14.10.9422 and I'm using 32bit XP. Please help :(

I should clarify, this is happening in ANY mode, offline or online. Single player or multiplayer on any setting.

Your drivers probably need to be updated.

Hm..I'm not sure which one's the newest...I think 163.44? well check out
    laptopvideo2go

there's some guides there and I'm sure someone here knows exactly how to update drivers and can help you.

I really hope its the drivers.. also thought it could be a RAM issue but I have no idea, honestly. Anyone have any info on what EXACT drivers I need? It seems that the link you have posted pulsar is not forthe 7950GTX, rather the older models.

Mine was horribly slow when I was running games on my 9260. Then I updated the drivers and it works great.

Go to LaptopVideo2Go, and get the 163.44 drivers for your operating system. Follow their instructions regarding the INF file, and then see what your performance is like.

Make sure you're running in full performance mode, and not a limited performance mode as set by your power settings.

Thanks EVERYONE for all the replies.. I'm being told to do a few things so let me start by saying

    1. no, I am not running in battery mode
    2. I am running with full top level performance settings

Also I am a bit confused on which drivers to get.. I've been told 163.44 and also 9423. I don't know which to get :( and I don't want to make it worse!

Thanks so much!! I really appreciate you people taking the time to try to help me.

    (A) first about the driver itself:
ok this site is in dutch but do will help you with the correct drivers:

    1)go to www.xxodd.nl
2)put the mouse over the button "xxodd downloads" of the main menu you will see a dropdown menu.
3)choose in that dropdown menu "download" (the url you see now is: "http://www.xxodd.nl/index.php?p=download")
    4) under the sentence "Kies hieronder uw XXODD model om drivers te downloaden:" you see a white box. Click on the word "museum" in that white box.
    5) now you see a new white box next to the last one. Click in that 2nd white box on the sentence "XNi570u3 serie".
    6) in the 3rd white box you click the word "Driver"
    7) scroll to the bottom of the site and click on the link "VGA Driver Nvidia" with the discription "Ver. 8.4.7.8" and the os "OS: Windows XP :"

Now you have the same type driver as that one of the nvidia site, but with the support of you card the 7950gtx. This driver works proper with almost every game and isn't tweaked. This is the safest driver to try first.

    (B) about the heat of the gpu:
can you use the keycombination of "FN" + F2"? if so you should hear the fans of the cpu and the gpu spinning faster (max). If you press that same keycombination again the fans spin the same like they did before (auto). When you play a game you should use the fans at max and when you quit a game the fans can be used at auto again. If you dont hear/see any difference when you type "FN + F2" then you should update you KBC. I dont have a link to that file but i do have the file in my mail so i could upload it for you.

Hmm just downloaded it. I tried opening it using the setup icon and nothing happens. The alienware one will atleast open and then tell me my hardware cannot be located. This just does nothing and when I try to extract the files it tells me there is an error. Anyone else have any suggestions?

The Fan Toggle is not ready for te Clevo M570RU yet.

There is going to be a small BIOS update and maybe Keyboard firmware update to get the Fan Toggle to work.

At the moment (for the new Clevo models), only the D900C/D901C has the fan toggle with Fn+1.

sigh I just installed the 163.44 with the INF mod and I'm still having problems with my games. These are old games that the system should be running easily.. it seems that the system has hiccups/stuttering constantly every 10 seconds or so while playing.. this makes games unplayable and is very frustrating/annoying..

Could it possibly be something other than the video card.. I've started to notice it does it while on my desktop as well. It's a brand new system with hardly any programs on it.

that score isnt good enough no. Ehm could you try to set bios settings to defaults and run 3dmark again? If you have the complete version, what cpu score do you get?

Oh and make sure you run 3dmark at the moment you connected to the AC adapter (also use max performance in the powermizer for the gpu when you run 3dmark06)

What exactly do you mean when you say "it does it on the desktop too" ? If possible, could you run wPrime or SuperPI and report what you get? (Or just report the 3dmark06 CPU score if you can). Also, what clock speeds is your GPU running at?
