On my M17x R4 with 7970M I've noticed that when I disable integrated graphics and run my machine with JUST the 7970M, I get weaker benchmark results than if I have both Intel and 7970M on.

For example when I did Furmark 1080P with both 7970M and intel 4000 'on' but Furmark set to Maximum Performance in Enduro I get an average of 31 fps at stock clocks...

Running off just the 7970M I get a 26fps average.

The same relational difference is the same with Unigine: running with Enduro but set to Maximum Performance I get average of 45fps yet with JUST the 7970M running I get an average of 33.4 fps. Why is this?

It must be noted that this is on stock clocks and same settings. Is my card faulty? :/

I don't understand what that is... but, even still. I should be getting much better scores using the 7970M alone than what I'm getting. I think my card is a wimp :/

And I say this because on Furmark the average using the 7970M alone is 45fps... I got 16fps and then 26fps. Not right.

    It was a joke :p

Seriously, are you shure you don`t remember it backwards? Enduro enabled had worse FPS results than 7970M alone when notebookcheck tested the Alienware. Not shure what notebook you have or if other brands have the same problem though

No I DEFINITELY get worse scores when I use FN+F7 to disable Intel 4000 - the benchmark scores I get as you can see are significantly weaker than if I have Intel enabled but just whitelist certain programs.

I thought my 7970M was performing significantly weaker than others since I got it... :/

Edit: I have the Alienware M17x R4 with 7970M. Running off just the AMD card my scores in Unigine and Furmark are significantly worse than if I whitelist them via Enduro. Even when I do whitelist them, apparently my scores are significantly weaker than others. :/

Just send it back and wait for GTX 680M so you don`t have to suffer through the usual AMD crap

I seriously might... How can my card be running so weak when I switch off Intel 4000 though? I haven't fried it, its never been above 70oC I know that much.

Well before you go through all that hassle, try the latest mod drivers.

I'll try the one's in Slick's sig but... I find it odd that my card runs so weak when other member of the forum can run stuff like BF3 at up to 80 FPS maxed on the basic Dell drivers :/

up to 80fps bf3 maxxed...NOT 80fps average. No single mobile card will get 80fps in bf3 maxxed
