Well im guessing that soon 7970m and 680m will be inserted to the m18x. I was just wondering inorder to understand the power behind these cards as to which PC gpu are the7970m and680m equal to ? Like 7970m has similar performance as the 6950 pc GPU ?

As for the 7970, going by what happened in the past, will most like be comparable to a 7850/7870 desktop gpu.
Also, while it should get the 680m at some point, it will not be in it at the release. As for what it equates to, I'd say a 660 Ti, just like how the 580m was similar to the 560 Ti. At release the cards should be a 7970, 675m (rebadged 580m with minor clock increase), and a 670m, which will be a rebadge of the 570m.
Also, all of this is based on rumors, but from a highly accurate source. -
I'd guess your estimate of the 7970m being about equal to a desktop 6950 is right if it's an underclocked, fully-spec'ed pitcairn.
Rumors are the 680m will be between a desktop GTX 560 ti and 570 (so, maybe a GTX 470).
All in all, the cards look like they'll be neck-and-neck much like 580m and 6990m were/are. -
Isn't 7970m a rebranded 6970m? I can remember reading something about it somewhere in this forum.

I don't think the 680m is coming out till late summer early fall, the m18x Is prob gonna ship with the flagship nvidia card being the 675m(rebadged 580m) for the time being.
