Just letting people know that after updating to AMD's 14.1 driver that on my Alienware m17x r4 I can now run bf4 on ultra settings on a 900p screen (no 1080 though I might try it on my tv at some stage).

Issues with 14.1 driver include NO MANTLE at this stage for 7970m.

I had the Dell Alienware standard drivers before and tried ultra and my fps was crap and it recommended (and STILL recommends) medium setting but I saw a couple of people on youtube getting ultra with this card and thought I'd give it a go.

The 14.1 driver with the 7970m doesn't show catalyst as updating to 14.1 but only 13.x which is another issue which does not affect the driver.

Anyone that has the same spec pc give it a go. Took me a few goes to install it as I had to uninstall all AMD catalyst progs and drivers and just used ccleaner and glary's to repair the registry and get rid of crap then installed it straight from the AMD website.

I thought this card, even so soon, would be out-dated running bf4 on ultra and am pleasantly surprised. Especially with no over-clocking involved.

I'm getting around 56 fps on ultra and its way good enough to play. 120 on medium.

Anyways give it go and tell me if it works for you on 1080.

    Cheers
