I have an alienware m17x r4. The 7970m I installed a volt increased bios 1100mv and it had 1400 memory 960 core. On bf4 after 25 mins or so of plying.. The screen shuts off.. And I have to hard power down. I'm on unlocked a11 bios. I tried restoring to default.. And nothing seems to work so far. The odd thing is. During arma 3 gameplay gpu steady at 70c with same clocks. It doesn't mess up.. At all. I am on win 8.1 pro.

So when playing BF4 your screen shuts off even at default clocks or did you mean with the default bios? Its pretty normal for an overclock to be stable in one program and not another, try backing you overclock off a bit, if that fixes it then you know you weren't properly stable.

Well.. Overclocked. I haven't tested it with default I flashed the standard bios. And haven't messed with it sense. It's just kinda upsetting to see a 7970m that can't get past 960 core stable..

It was a while ago that I was messing about with the 7970m but from memory I got a max of 990Mhz out of mine and that was only stable in some benchmarks, to game I'm pretty sure I had to be below 940Mhz..... yeh AMD GPU overclocking in my experience has been limited when compared to Nvidia cards, unfortunatly
