I've found a store that sells an Asus X59GL-AP075C with an Nvidia 8200m G that (according to the store) has 256mb dedicated memory. And they seem to suggest that this makes the notebook good for casual gaming. But since I can't find any other information on the net that suggests that there's a 8200m G with dedicated memory, I wonder if this could really be true??

There's no info about this model on Asus' website.

    Here's the specs:

    Asus X59GL-AP075C
    Pentium Dual Core T3200
    4096mb ram, DDR II - 800 Mhz
320 GB SATA 5400 rpm hdd
    Nvidia Geforce 8200M G - 256mb

ooh. so the memory is added through a pci slot or something then? I don't know that much of how notebook hardware works, so please excuse me :).. if this was the case. would that mean that the card would do for some older games like bfME2 and stuff? thx for your help

BF2 might be a streach because this wont be much better than an intagrated card.

the 8200m G is definately an integrated card but with dedicated memory (i think)... which is not upgradable.

    System Requirements

    Minimum:

    Microsoft Windows XP
PC with 1.6 Ghz equivalent or higher processor
    256 MB of system RAM
512 MB of system RAM for online play with 3 or more players
4.0 GB available hard disk space
16x speed or faster CD-ROM drive
    64 MB GeForce3-class video card
We will only officially support cards with ATI and Nvidia chipsets, and the Intel GMA 900 and GMA 950 products. We are not supporting the GeForce 4 MX.
Sound card with speakers or headphones
Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device
56.6 Kbps or better modem for 1v1 online play
Broadband connection for online play with 3 or more players
    DirectX 9.0c or above

u shud be fine at med-low depending on the resolution

The 8200m G isn't all that bad for an IGP, it doesn't have any dedicated video memory.

It'll play BFME2 on medium settings easily and, just for the record, BF2 will run on medium aswell :D

My sister's computer has an 8200m G, along with a 2GHz turion 64 x2. It's pretty mediocre. I only tried playing halo on it, it ran on all low settings, medium textures, and 1280x720 resolution. It got 25fps constant.

I would only get that computer if it's less than $600.
