My ATI 9600 XT is old and busted and i just ordered a Dell 1420 with the 8400 GS. I wish it were a 8600 GT but i cant afford a Zepto notebook....

Im wondering how much of an improvement I will be able to run games...

    From P4 2.2, Asus 9600 XT (256 i think?), 2 GB ram

    to

    1420 - T7300 2.0, 8400m (128), 2 GB.

I run most of my newer games at lower setting (titan quest is the first game that i noticed lag on even the lowest settings) so im hoping for a huge upgrade but dont want to get my hopes up.....

Should i not expect much, or wet my pants in anticipation, thanks for any enlightenment!

It will be an upgrade. The CPU is alot faster. The GPU is a bit faster but not by too much. Newer games will show more of an improvment then older games.

Off-topic: You've been watching the Men in Black reruns too, haven't you? ;)

("New hotness," and "old and busted.")

This may seem odd but, titan quest runs poorly on that??? I bought that game to play on my brothers computer, later to realize the dvd drive decided not to work. The requirements on titan quest didnt seem too demanding... with the recommended at 3.0 ghz pentium 4, 1 gb ram, geforce 6800. Im going to be really bummed out if it does work well on my new notebook (siggy).

Hah, those were the good 'ol days. ATI advertised the 9600 as a "better replacement of the 9500" but we all knew the truth, didn't we? ;)
