I've been looking at the clock speeds for my 8400M GS through Rivatuner hardware monitoring, and I've found one thing to be a bit odd. The default max clocks for it is 400/500 (core/memory), for low power 3D it's 275/301 and on standard 2D it's 169/100.
So when I look at the actual speeds in the monitor, core clocks seem ok all the way through - about 5% higher than the actual clock speed but I've seen others with the same result, and accurate memory clocks with one exception. My memory clock will go from 500 to 301 to 600 for some reason, instead of going down to 100 it goes all the way back up and actually overclocks to 600 MHz! This only happens when the memory clock for standard 2D is set at or very close to 100 MHz, if it's set at say 95 MHz It will show up as 95 on the monitor but once setting it back to 100 it will soar to 600. Is this something I should be worrying about?

What´s the version of your driver?
Mine is 169.28 and i´ve noticied the same problem with the memory clock, it´s max at stock is 500, but sometimes rivatuner says that it´s at 600 O.O
Temperatures are hiting 80ºC !
i´m gona try another monitoring soft and see if it shows the sames values... it may be a riva´s problem..
