I have only been able to get 1798 in 3dmark06 on my 8400m gs, but from what ive seen, other people are getting closer to 2200. The driver im using is 180.84 from laptopvideo2go, ive tried a couple of others in 3dmark05 but they all gave lower scores than this one (this is the first time ive used 06). Any ideas, or is this actually an ok score for my spec.

    8400m gs 256 dedicated memory (1279mb shared)

Also, how do you find out if which version of the 8400 you have (ddr2 or other)

    Thanks,

    Michael

You can use GPU-Z for that:

Thanks, if its normal ill leave it. I just wanted to make sure I was getting all I could from the graphics, but im not bothered about overclocking.

I cant change the resolution in the basic edition of 3dmark, so i was testing at 1280x800 with all default settings (the laptops resolution is 1440x900 if thats what you were asking)

I downloaded gpu-z, thanks for the suggestion. It seems to be showing the gpu at a high temp at about 66c - but it only went up to 71 when I ran 3dmark again so its not too bad i dont think.
