I have already spent 1 whole day finding a solution to this problem....searched majority of threads....googled quite a bit...applied a variety of drivers from laptopvideo2go.....but nothing concrete...

My video card in my hp 6670 is a 8400m GS (128 mb dedicated).....

I am not a gamer but i just need my aero running smooth!.....My older laptop's card....mobility radeon 9700 handles aero in a much much better way....its very smooth!...

Dont give me the usual answer of "change the driver!"......i have tried so many that i have forgotten the no.s :).......currently i am using the 171.16 beta from LV2G.....and i have applied drivers properly....using cleaners n stuff..

Using Ntune's MonitorView....i figured that when my card automatically downclocks to 168/100 (PowerMizer feature)......this goes to 400/400 only if i start any graphics intensive app.....but all the time aero is sluggish due to that 168/100 and 275/200....

I found a solution in a forum to change the value of PerfLevelSrc to 3322....this keeps the card running at 400/400 all the time....but this kills battery life!......and am scared of overheating n stuff....i know default clock wont overheat but this is a new laptop!... :D....

What do u all 8400m users do?!!...if u guys got it fixed due to any driver....pls pls tell me the forceware version of that!!!....if theres any way i can edit the registry and set powermizer levels acc. to powerplans...(i mean.....if i am on high performance, powermizer shudnt downclock.....if i am on balanced powermizer shud max downclock to 275/200....and on low..powermizer shud downclock to 168/100)...

My 8400m even at 400/400 doesnt render aero as well as my MRadeon 9700 (64mb).....lol!...
