    8600 GT M What is the rough desktop equalivent?

    Roughly the 8600M GT is faster than a desktop 8500 GT due to its 32 stream processor vs 8500GT's 16, faster core/memory clock, higher memory bandwidth and faster peak fillrate.

    However, its still slower than the desktop version 8600 GT .

    Slightly underclocked 8600 GT. Much faster than the 8500 GT. The 8500 GT is close to the 8400m GT.
