So does anyone know if there are any plans or possibility to have the 8600gt or hd2600 card in a ~14" form factor? I'm wondering when they will finally release a <17" laptop that has all the bells and whistles...(i.e. bluetooth, hdmi port, Hd solution, 1400x900). I realize that Zepto has a model but I'm looking at something more local (North America). I also realize I'm basically asking for an Asus G1 to shrink an inch but that inch makes all the difference even if it excludes weight. Would the ati card be a bit cooler or are we still talking sunny side testis temperatures?

Is there even sufficient demand for such a product? I recall the Asus W3j had similarly high specs back in the day and it was a rather popular machine. I think people would be willing to shell out a higher price for such a machine should it exist.

The ASUS V2 and ASUS F8 are both something to keep an eye out for.

There is plenty of demand, don't worry about that. But the reason that they don't make 14 inchers with 8600 gpus is because it's a small case with a big powerful gpu inside. Not because theres no demand for it. They must first figure out how to cool such a monster in such a slim case.

While I'm sure it can be done, there's nothing out right now with such a configuration. Like coriolis said, look out for those 2 machines in the near future.
