Hey guys just letting you know I ran 3dmark06 on my samsung R70 with 8600GS. I used the native res 1280x800 with standard settings (meaning I didn't tamper with any of the default settings) and standard stock drivers and I got a result of 2782, which is pretty good I think... Funny thing my computer recognizes the video card as um. NB8P-SE rather than 8600GS. Let me know if you guys wanna know anything else about it or if you guys know what NB8P-SE stands for...

    Hey,

Thanks for the 3dmark, what would be more interesting though is the laptops game performance. You reckon you could try out a few games you own and post the frames per second.

Start with Fear. Great for benchmarking! Also if you are willing... can you try some overclocking?

Yeah I guess I'll overclock, I don't know what is safe or what isn't I guess Ntune will let me know eh?
Oh also, I may wait until I get another gig of ram, which would be this weekend because this laptop only came with one gig and it is NOT enough to run vista smoothly.

Anyways I ran some tests with just 1 gig of ram installed on windows vista, and fear at 1024x768 on high cpu high gpu gave me an avg of a very playable 50 fps. on medium medium it was 76 fps avg... on cs:s stress test on native res of 1280x800 high settings it was 114 avg fps.. This is all stock settings.. Wave, once I get another gig of ram I'll OC it, test it and get some official screenshots of the benchmark results.
