I found this data sheet for the LG R500's 8600M GS and I don't quite know how to interpret the results: is the chip underclocked/average/overclocked?

    Thanks

The official maximum speeds for a 8600M GS are:

    GPU Core: 600MHz
    Shaders: 1200MHz
    Memory: 700MHz

So the GPU itself is underclocked, but the memory isn't. Since most GPUs are memory bandwidth bottlenecked anyways, it isn't quite as bad as it seems. Anyways, in general, I don't believe in mobile GPUs being underclocked since they are clocked to fit the model's thermal and power requirements.

Yeap on performance 3d it would be clocked at 500/700, same as my samsung R70. The good news is that I can overclock my card to 600/700, even to 650/750, with minimal temperature increase (2 C at the most). It may be the same for this laptop.

That's wonderful news. What do you get in 3dmark06 on your card? at 1024x768?

I haven't tried 1024x768 but for 1280x800 and performance in the latest games, go here:

Remember, if you want me to test a game just let me know and I'll try to get my grubby little hands on it and test it out for you. The performance between the LG and the samsung should be more or less the same.

That's wonderful! I already ordered the LG so.. should probably have checked speeds beforehand. But my dealer doesn't even know. The F3Sv seems to be clocked hopelessly low.. maybe because of the DDR2?

And one more thing, do you know how to access that screen shown above? Can't seem to find it. Is it in the nVIDIA control centre or something built into Windows?
