    Hoy, I've thought about buying a 24" monitor, but I'm wondering whether my 8600GT 256 is going to be able to run it at all. Please note that I'm not a die-hard gamer, I browse the web and code most of the time.

    Yes it will run it fine at full resolution. Games will be a different story, however.

    I can power 2048x1152 with a netbook GMA950 as long as I'm just doing 2d Windows desktop tasks. Of course I'd never attempt to game at that res (with a netbook lol) but you could probably do it if you lowered the res.
