    8600GT 512mb ddr2 or 8600GT 256mb ddr3? which would perform better for gaming? ddr2 is 400mhz but ddr3 is 700mhz. ddr3 is better right?

    the 8600mgt cant effectivly use all 512, and since the 256 has gddr3, the gddr3 is the way to go. Its at least 30% faster

    Yes, the 256mb gddr3 card will perform better than the 512mb gddr2.
