Well if I overclock my graphics to these settings :610 / 460 and play oblivion for around an hour ( which works like a charm with hdr and most settings pretty high!) my GPU reaches around 80 degrees celsius.

Is that temperature okay or should I stop overclocking my card?

during idle mode the gpu usually stays between 49-53 C° but it never goes below that, is that temperatur adequate for this kind of machine?

    thank you for your answers!

My 8600m GT reaches 80 degrees even w/o overclocking. It's nothing to worry about until it gets into the 90s, or starts showing signs of artifacting, then back off.

80 C is still fine, if you`re not reaching that temp very often. However I`d try to keep it below 80 for safe keeping. Just lower the OC a bit until you stay below 75.

Yes, same here, I get around 80C without overclocking and gaming, you know heavy games like COD4, UT3 and Crysis.
    I believe thats a normal temperature n_n.

I get around 78C while gaming stock, and there isn't any change when I overclock to 520MHz for CoD4 and The Witcher.

Lol, getting that temp in the asus c90s would be marvelous while gaming (w/o adding holes to the bottom plate or having a cooling pad). I doubt that you have to worry about that temp.

I've got a 1520 and mine at 600/500 and I idle at about 40 - 43 and got to my highest the other day at like 70 which shocked me, but then I came up here and seen some Asus' getting well over 100 and most macs average like 80-90 stock and I can't complain. You're fine man, trust me.

I get a max temp of about 78 C when playing when I have my 8600M GT DDR3 overclocked to 585/855. 80 C is fine

GPUs are designed to handle much higher temps than cpus, so 80 degrees is nothing to worry about.
