Heyyyy Everyone,
I overclocked my graphics card core bus from 475 (factory setting) to 500 leaving the Memory Bus at 702 Mhz without overclocking .....
After playing crysis for about 40 min, my graphic card's temp reaches 82 deg notes that before overclocking it reaches max 75 deg .....
Is it too much ?!!!
and is it better to overclock the core bus or the memory bus to reach highest performance with less temp ?!!
"" I am using ntune to overclock "" ......
Thanks in Advance ......

There's no telling what's too much for your GPU to bear. Some cards are just fine at 90 degrees, others fail at 82 degrees. 80 degrees is my max, but it's really to keep it on the safe side. I'm lucky that my GPU doesn't get to hot, even when I OC. But again - this is different with every GPU.
On the whole, you'll notice more ingame-fps with memory OC than core OC.
Keep your eye on the temp. and act asap when spotting glitches. That's the best advice I can give ya. -
I HAVE A 8600M GT ddr3, i have it overclocked 500/733.
it reaches 98 max when playing gears of war and other intensive games.
i just keep a fan on it.
part of that heat is also due to the asus g1s having a horrid cooling system in the first place, so your temps are fine imo. -
use a notebook cooler stand.

82 shouldn't pose a huge threat

i would recommend some kind of external coolin to help keep OC temps down. u should be fine for now, but keep a very close eye on yur temps. anything over 90c+ should raise a bit of an alarm. -

ddr3? then you should OC your memory more rather than your GPU
and 82? come on i get to 89 with my acer 5920g without overclocking much -
Just be careful on OCing your GPU. Plus with the added issues that NVidia released a batch of bad cards, you need to be extra careful and diligent to your overclocking. I OCed my 8600GT and it ran fine for a while but after reading about the issues, I set everything back to stock.

there's just no way around higher temps when it comes to OC'in. OC'in in a notebook doesn't help that fact much either, but any card will fry if it gets too hot. monitor yur temps and OC slowly. undervolt yur CPU to counteract the added heat a bit. be safe! -
if your going to overclock, keep those temperatures as low as you can. i've got mine OC'ed at 630/500 (DDR2). I can't push the memory more than 520 as it will start to stutter so I keep it at 500. My temperatures at max load is around 80-85C. I'll be getting a notebook cooler and cleaning out my vents so hopefully I'll be seeing max temps below 80C
8600GT OverClocking !
