Has anyone tried this? Such as directing the Device Manager to the folder with extracted Vista drivers? Or maybe the drivers can be very slightly modified (similar to how ppl make small modifications to INF files)?
I am rly frustrated that nobody has found a way to OC Dell's 8600M GT yet in XP. It's already DDR2, but if you OC it, hopefully it'll get a little closer to that GDDR3 that it should be.![]()
Good luck, post any results.

um. don't use vista drivers -.-

Plz give a reason, seeing as nothing else has worked. If Device Manager will detect it and let you, then it should be suitable right? (I havne't tried this, just hypothesizing)

drivers for xp and drivers for vista work differently.

Is there a reason why you don't want to/can't use XP drivers?

uhh. what?
ok. first. you cannot use vista drivers on xp. you don't even want to. there are fundamental differences between vista's drivers and xp's drivers. xp has been around longer and has better driver support, even for the new 8 series cards, than does vista. vista is getting there, but its not there yet.
second. www.laptopvideo2go.com. you can download the latest drivers from there.
