I downloaded several driver packages from laptopvideo2go.com.. But when I go to install them I recieve the message "The nvidia setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware."

I have the modified INF from laptopvideo2go, as well.

I just installed XP on a G2S after having horrible instability problems with Vista. Any advice? Am I missing something?

There is a thread dedicated to updating video drivers, please read the board sticky.

Also, make sure you've copied and pasted the modified INF file into the extracted driver folder, overwriting the original INF.

Did it.. Still no luck. I don't get it. I downloaded the drivers, extracted them, replaced the .inf, ran setup - the nothing. Just the same error message for any drivers I try.

Try using the "have disk" method then.

Good idea.. I just realized my device manager isn't even registering a VGA controller.. just some "Unkown devices" a "Base system device".

Any idea what I could do?

Can you post a screen shot of the device manager screen, where the VGA controller should be?

    Sure.

These are the only devices showing problems on the machine.. There is nothing that even mentions VGA in the list, at all.

Wow, you're missing a bunch of drivers. Try going into the Asus forum and asking in the G2s owner's lounge where they found all their XP drivers.

yeah.. I want to get it lined out, but it doesnt do me much good if the video drivers dont work. I have a driver pack here for the laptop, but havent went through and installed them all yet.

Maybe try installing those drivers first before trying out the Modded ones?
