Found these, Crysis in real time performance.

I think it looks pretty good and seems to run pretty good too![]()
Two of these is from Medal of Honor airborne.
-
they should let it run next to a 7950 for real comparison

Stewie Griffin Notebook Consultant
how do you know they were using a 8600 GT?
-
Seems like they´re playing on a zepto note 6625WD.
Kwakkel I doubt these cards too -
Stewie Griffin Notebook Consultant
o didnt realize that, thanks m8
-
Too bad the recording was pretty crappy. Still, 8600M GT will run Crysis, like I (and many others) have claimed.
-
I cant get these links to work, I get this error with firefox
"This page requires AC_RunActiveContent.js"
and internet explorer just says "this page cannot be found" -
The Forerunner Notebook Virtuoso
Good find. Crytek said the game would run on 3 year old hardware. So I very much doubted that the most powerful 8 series laptop gpus would not be able to run them on medium settings like many people said.
-
I think this is great news for the people who have bought 8600 cards and 8700 cards
Now if they could release a really nice 8700 or 8800GTX card too I would be happy and buy me a new laptop.
-
Blackbird they should work, works for me in internet explorer.

masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
does zepto use the ddr2 8600m gt?
-
The crysis video looks just like a video trailer ive seen for crysis. So im not sure if its actual gameplay footage or just the trailer I saw...
-
The Forerunner Notebook Virtuoso
Yeah I think so zepto is ddr2.
-
Yes might be a trailer only.
-
i ordered a 8700M in my new laptop, but today i changed it to a 7950
i'm sure that, whatever i end up with, i'll regret it -
Nah a 7950GTX is faster than a 8700. You have the best notebook GPU out there at the moment
-
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
oh wait. what did we just see? i didn't see anyone sitting down at the laptop which leads me to believe that we might have just seen a trailer being played on a zepto laptop.
-
The Forerunner Notebook Virtuoso
That other person was right they Crysis is just a trailer, thats not actual gameplay on that laptop. I've seen that trailer a bunch of times but MOH is still a demanding game good to see it plays well on that.
-
-
the everlasting struggle (for me at least)
i hope the 7950 gets me through at least 3 years (probably more as my gf won't like it if i buy a new laptop every 3 years ... it already took me a lot of effort convincing her so i could get me this one) -
Yeah, it's probably just a trailer. Meh. Game requirements are overrated. Crysis will run on a 8600M GT at high settings, just not sure how far the resolution will go before dropping the 30 FPS mark.
I'm actually more worried about Bioshock's recommended requirements for eye-candy. -

Just compare that with the one in your link...Last edited by a moderator: May 6, 2015 -
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
right. i mean the laptop might have an 8600m gt. but i think we all agree that it was just a video.
-
Nothing to see here. This is not the demo you are looking for....
Really, it doesn't help one way or the other. It sure is pretty though. -
maybe TS meant that we should look at the HD decoding power of the 8600M?
-
Yeah it´s amazing
-
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
lol it might not even be HD footage... we can't tell because of the camera angle! lol.
-
I'm sure the 8600m GT will run Crysis fine.
Dunno why so many people are so pessimistic. -
Atleast a 8600m GT will have no problem running it.
-
so you are not missing anything really. -

masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
look to bioshock for the final word. being hopeful, it looks to return what it promises.

-
i know it's bad, but after switching, i kinda hope it doesn't

Well I´m not surprised, since these "high end" dx10 laptop cards are only middle ranged desktop cards. I doubt every single DX10 game out there right now is so poorly written. Just take a look at Lost Planet, I mean it´s amazing graphics and I have never seen graphics like that before with that many effects not to speak about the weather effects. It is a very demanding game and I personally own the game and plays it on 8800GTX.
I have no doubt why this game performs so badly on lower end cards, it´s just too demanding.
There won´t be any saviour whether new drivers that would boost performance with 50% nor bad coding to talk about. But as said I doubt Bioshock would work any better on these middle ranged cards that looks even more demanding -
The Forerunner Notebook Virtuoso
Lost planet was horribly encoded for the pc. Thats the reason it got such low reviews and is simply the reason it is just plain bad.
-
And that's on a DDR2 800 model?
Amazing. Looks like DX10 WILL improve performances after all.
Magnus72: Lost planet IS baddly encoded for PC. With the current devellopment technology, the 8600GT performs similary to the X360's graphics chip( both X360 and PS3 perofrms about a 7800GTX 256 right now)and it runs way better on the 360. -
mostly, the 8600 and 8700 are (wrongfully) compared against a 7950
-
I dunno it seems like if a console and PC have a similar GPU, the console always performs better than the PC. -
Yes the console is still better optimized, since it´s aimed at gaming only. So it's though there to compare the console GPU to a Computer GPU.
Also of course Lost Planet looks better on the PC than 360 by much higher AA and AF and not to speak of resolutions. Another reason why the game is more demanding on the PC. But yes I can agree the game is badly optimized, since my overclocked 7800GTX barely manages to run the game in even 1280x720
Though it looks kick ass in DX10 with all options on max, playing it right now on my 8800GTX but try to put the shadows on high and the performance drops badlySoft Shadows kills the FPS a lot, though no need to since the shadows looks just as good in medium as in high.
-
And right now PC games look better than X360/PS3 ones
8600M GT doubters look here :)
